Bean-isms

I’m sure you’ve thought to yourself, “Oh-em-gee. My kid is the cutest thing ever.”

I’ve been thinking this more and more each day.

Every time she opens her mouth I’m either regretting not having a video camera on hand or taking mental notes of what I should write down and document before I forget.

This is my current documentation:

blankalet: blanket. Bean likes to add extra adorable syllables to her words.

slippelers: slippers. See above. She needs to have something on her tootsies at all times.

calkator: calculator. My mom gave her a mini calculator to play with and this is what she calls it.

adomable: adorable. As in, Bean is “adomable” when she tries to say adorable.

componkin: pumpkin. We have no idea why she ads the “com” before pumpkin, but she also did it when I asked her to say “Christopher Columbus” (I was teaching her Thanksgiving words).

pimmy: Minnie (mouse). Not to be confused with Pammy the Penguin.

chrimist: Bean will be wishing you a very Merry “Chrimist” this year.

aymen: At every dinner, Bean isn’t happy unless we all hold hands, say “amen”, and celebrate a successful prayer by clapping.

santa plaus: Santa Claus. One of her favorite movies is “Santa Paws”. She doesn’t understand the difference between the movie title and the dude in the red suit.

baneena: banana. Her favorite fruit ever. And also what she calls the minions from Despicable Me. She also refers to her “Nana” as her “Nina”.

chockalet: chocolate. She pronounces it correctly, but it’s the way that she emphasizes the syllables “choc-a-late” that makes it adorable. She takes after her mommy with her love of chocolate.

tinkle lights: Christmas lights. Now that our house is decorated in it’s full Christmas glory, she is infatuated with all of the “tinkle lights” that we have strung up around the house.

  1. This brought back great memories of how my son used to say things when he was young. The best was “Humpty Po” aka Home Depot. Your Bean-isms are “adomible.”
