Bean’s 1st Attempt at Solid Food

Just when we thought feeding Brynn couldn’t get any messier, we found out how wrong we were. Brynn got her first taste of (semi) solid food this week, my baby is growing up so fast (sniffle…)

I just have to make one comment first. They sure make feeding a baby their first solid difficult on the mothers. You’re told to mix 1 tablespoon of rice cereal to 4-5 tablespoons of formula to the consistency of thin milk. I get that you have to ease babies into a new food, but you’re better off just putting it in a bottle and feeding it to them that way, if you ask me. Keeping a spoonful of milk on a spoon without spilling it all over a squirming baby is quite the task. Not to mention the drool factor, holy cow. Just watch the video and see what I mean:

You may be laughing at how it looks like she’s strapped in ready to go for a car ride, but with this being her first time in the high chair I didn’t want to take any chances and have her slide right out of it haha Now I know the shoulder & leg straps and head support are totally unnecessary in the successful feeding of my child.

Enjoy some photo documentation (along with more cheesy subtitles from moi):

And we thought bottle feedings were messy…

How I imagine this conversation took place…

Dad- “Brynn, you’re supposed to SWALLOW, not drool it out”   Brynn- “Oh really, Dad? You see, this is how it’s done.”

The Aftermath (punny bib not intended)

Speaking of Brynn, if you haven’t seen this video yet, you need to. I’m telling ya…
