Sweet & Salty Cheddar Popcorn HERSHEY’S Chocolate Bark

This post was sponsored by Hello Happy. Hello Hershey’s, as part of an Ambassador Activation for Influence Central.

You’ve all heard of Chicago Mix, right? If not, you are missing out big time. It’s the perfect odd combination of sweet and salty.

THIS, my friends, is the perfect mix of sweet, salty, and CHOCOLATE.

We brought a batch up to the cabin for the weekend. It is super delicious and SUPER addictive.

Sweet & Salty Cheddar Popcorn HERSHEY’S® Chocolate Bark

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup cheddar popcorn
  • 1 cup white popcorn
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 20 HERSHEY’S kisses
  • 3 HERSHEY’S chocolate bars
  • Also needed: wax paper

STEP ONE
Combine the cheddar popcorn, white popcorn, and mini marshmallows. Set aside

STEP TWO
Unwrap the HERSHEY’S kisses and crush into small pieces. I used a plastic food bag and a hammer.

STEP THREE
Melt the HERSHEY’S chocolate bars in the microwave in 30 second increments until fully melted and smooth.

STEP FOUR
Spread the melted chocolate onto the wax paper in a thin layer. Leave a small amount to drizzle on top later.

STEP FIVE
Sprinkle the popcorn and mini marshmallow mixture onto the melted chocolate and top with the crushed HERSHEY’S kisses. Lightly press into the chocolate.

STEP SIX
Let the bark set up or harden. To speed up the process, I put it in the fridge for about 30 minutes. Then, break it apart into easy to eat pieces.

Between bites of cheddar popcorn bark, we managed to sneak in some fun in the sun. There’s nothing like some good old fashioned summer fun up at the cabin.

Bean is finally old enough that she was able to roast her own marshmallows for s’mores complete with HERSHEY’S chocolate bars (with my help, of course.) She would have had about 10 of them if she had her way.

It’s hard to beat summertime in Minnesota, especially when you’ve got a cabin in the family. Having a little one that gets super excited about everything only makes it more magical 🙂 It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the go-go-go of life, I love having a cabin to get away and escape it all.

On the first official day of summer (June 20th) HERSHEY’s wants to remind you to take a moment and reflect on the everyday joys and happy moments in your life. On the longest day of the summer, take a moment to step away from the phone/computer/stress and just enjoy the moment. Go ahead, have some cheddar popcorn chocolate bark 😉
