DIY Freezer Paper Graphic Print Shirt
As you may or may not know, I am the stubborn person who tries to DIY and create as many of my gifts as possible. This last Christmas I got the idea to do a themed gift for my cheese-loving sister in law. After some research and coming upon this tutorial on Pinterest, I decided to tackle my first DIY clothing experiment, a freezer paper graphic print shirt.
I designed the graphic in Photoshop and printed it onto freezer paper. Then I painstakingly used an exacto knife to cut the letters out, ironed it onto the sweatshirt, then painted it with fabric paint.
Patience is the key with this project. In the end, it’s worth it. I was pretty pleased with the outcome. And I’m pretty sure she was too. The freezer paper was a perfect stencil and the shirt turned out awesome.

One of the things I do to help reduce and keep it frugal (two of my favorite things) is not only pass clothes down but repurpose them. Turn that too short shirt into maxi dress, those leggings that are too short, add them to short sleeve shirts to make them long sleeves.
We've also taken steps to get away from plastic period, we splurged on a britta water filter and it's saved us hundreds of dollars and bottles of water a month, glass storage containers for leftovers (plus side they are oven friendly and they don't stain!)
My only complaint is we have no recycling areas here. 🙁

Oh my gosh–that is adorable! I don't know if I'd have the patience to work with an exacto knife for that long!
I did this for some Christmas gifts. Patience is essential, but it can be so incredibly worth it!
I really want to try some of these out! A great way to spice up an old shirt, or to make a sweet gift!

We have a HUGE recycling bucket that gets picked up with our garbage and I cannot believe all the things you can put in there. It makes me feel like I am helping in some way!
Also, I save all the tissue paper/bags that any gifts come in to re use and have a bag for every occasion. Not only do I not put them in the garbage, I save money since I don't have to buy them when birthdays/holidays come around. And I never thought about using garbage bags in the diaper genie, I'll have to give it a try!

That's pretty awesome – I had no idea that so many popular, mainstream brands used recycled products. It certainly makes me a little more likely to pay particular attention to those brands and labels when I'm in the market for something new. Thanks for sharing this because I had no idea!
I have a Silhouette and probably won't use this tutorial, I would stab myself in the eye with the Exacto before I was done. But, I LOVE the idea, I had no idea that freezer paper would do that! Love the sweatshirt, too! Ridiculous inside jokes make the best gifts. And, you're right. Sweet dreams ARE made of cheese. Goat cheese.
