DIY Mother’s Day Gift Idea: Kids Artwork Tumbler
This DIY Mother’s Day Gift Idea is sponsored by American Greetings. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
If there’s anything I struggle with more, it’s gift giving. I put SO MUCH pressure on myself to give the “perfect gift”. I forget that it’s really the thought that counts, but the practical side of me thinks, “Well if they won’t use it, love it, or need it, what’s the point?”
I especially have a hard time in finding gifts for my mom. As you may have read in the past on my blog, she’s not only my mom she happens to also be my boss. We own a family-run dance studio and I’m one of her Co-Directors and Head Instructors.
So not only do I have the pressure of finding the perfect gift for my mom that does so much for our family, I have to find a gift worthy of the person who gives her heart and soul to our family’s dance studio.
I know one thing about my mom, and it’s that she adores her grand kids. Maybe more so than her actual kids (kidding). My nephew is still too young to participate in arts and crafts, but Bean is at the perfect age where her creativity is starting to shine through in her drawings.
I knew exactly what we would be doing for Grandma this Mother’s Day 🙂
DIY Mother’s Day Gift Idea: Kid’s Artwork Tumbler Gift Set
SUPPLIES
- Clear tumbler
- Card stock
- Kid’s artwork
- A little something to put inside the tumbler
- The perfect Mother’s Day card
STEP ONE
Using the paper insert from your tumbler as a template, trace and cut out a sheet of card stock.
STEP TWO
Have your favorite little artist create their masterpiece on the tumbler insert. My little artist is learning her letters at preschool and was dead set on putting her name, “grandma”, and making a letter “H” out of gems. Who am I to stifle her creativity?
At least she drew some hearts as well. So what if they kind of look like butts… 😀
STEP THREE
Hand wash and thoroughly dry the tumbler. Then, insert the card stock into the tumbler. You could also fill the tumbler with the mom in your life’s favorite drink mix for a little something extra!
STEP FOUR
Have the artist sign the perfect card found at your local Target in the card section.
I used to be big on hand making cards, until I became a mom and life just got too busy. That’s why I love the selection of Papyrus cards at Target (they look so pretty and handmade!)
If you’re struggling with a meaningful yet still totally useful Mother’s Day gift, look no further than this DIY Kid’s Art Tumbler and pair it with a Mother’s Day card from the vast selection at Target! Make sure to take advantage of 20% off your Mother’s Day card with –this cartwheel deal–
