“Because She Can” Girl Power Tank Top + Soccer Mom Emergency Kit Tutorial
This post has been sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
When you have kids involved in sports, you’ve gotta be prepared.
With sports come many bumps and bruises. And sometimes sunburns and sneezes (I’m talking to you, soccer moms!).
I’m sharing with you today my soccer mom emergency kit, complete with BAND-AID® bandages and NEOSPORIN® to bring to every practice and game.
I’m also sharing a tutorial for a “Because She Can” girl power tank top, perfect for soccer practice!
I was inspired to create this “Because She Can” girl power tank top by the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s ‘Because She Can’ Innovation Fund. Johnson & Johnson, the U.S. Soccer Federation, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation are teaming up to provide the next generation of female leaders with the inspiration and support they need to pursue their dreams. Together, we can help her reach those goals. Because she can.
But first, we’ll put together the soccer mom emergency kit. You will need…
Soccer Mom Emergency Kit:
- Package of BAND-AID® bandages
- NEOSPORIN®
- Aveeno® Kid’s Lotion Sunscreen (SPF 50)
- Children’s Zyrtec®
It’s a no brainer, the BAND-AID® bandages and NEOSPORIN® are critical to any soccer mom’s arsenal.
It’s a blessing to have kids in a sport where you get to enjoy the great outdoors during their practices and games. But you’ve got to be prepared to battle the elements!
My kiddo has seasonal allergies; we keep them in check with Children’s Zyrtec®. And the Aveeno® Kid’s Lotion Sunscreen (SPF 50) keeps her protected through those long days in the sun.
Did you know that Johnson & Johnson is supporting the next generation of female leaders on and off the field by working with the U.S. Soccer Foundation to create the ‘Because She Can’ Innovation Fund?
Your support helps give thousands of girls access to soccer programs! Doesn’t it feel good to buy products that help support a cause like the ‘Because She Can’ program?
Now that you have your soccer mom emergency kit put together, it’s time to make the tank!
“Because She Can” Girl Power Tank Top:
- Girls Tank Top in Your Color of Choice
- My Free “Because She Can” Graphic
- Black Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Vinyl Cutting Machine
- Iron or Heat Press
Step One: Cut Out the “Because She Can” Graphic
Using your electronic vinyl cutter of choice, upload my graphic and cut with your machine. Make sure that the shiny side is down so that it is cut on the correct side.
Step Two: Weed Your Vinyl
Peel away the excess vinyl using your hands. The design isn’t too intricate, so this step should be pretty easy.
Step Three: Adhere the Vinyl to Your Tank
I am not lucky enough to have a heat press, so I use my iron to adhere the vinyl to the tank. Make sure you have a barrier layer between the heat source and the vinyl design. I like to use a cotton t-shirt for this.
Step Four: Peel Away the Transfer
Once the design has cooled slightly, peel away the top transfer layer. And that’s it! So simple to make.
Being a dance teacher to young women and children, I believe that I have such an important and unique role to leave a positive impact on young impressionable minds.
By being in organized sports, children develop important life lessons such as responsibility, time management, teamwork, humility in both winning and defeat, respect, and so much more.
The more kids that we can get into organized sports, the better our future will be! That’s why the ‘Because She Can’ Innovation Fund touched my heart so deeply.
Make sure you head on out to your local store and help support the ‘Because She Can’ initiative by purchasing your Johnson & Johnson soccer mom emergency kit products!
Oh my goodness, I LOVE this!! <3
This is so cool! What a great idea! I don’t have a vinyl cutter but I think I could cut this out of label paper and use it as a stencil with a bleach pen! Great tutorial. I remember as a kid I need a WHOLE TON of Bandaids regularly haha. I always have them at home and in my purse now along with antibiotic cream. Great tips!
What an adorable tank/graphic – love it! And great items to include in an emergency kit!
Bre, you always post the smartest, cutest, most helpful pieces! Thank you!
Loving the DIY shirt! That’s a cute and affordable way to make a t-shirt! Good idea to have that emergency kit all ready to go especially with sports.
That shirt is gorgeous! I am a huge soccer fan and my daughter loves it too, so this is perfect!
I love that tank top! It’s a great message for young girls!
I love that shirt! I have a Cricut and I will have to make this for my girls. Great kit to have on hand. I try to always have neosporin tucked in my purse.
Love the D.I.Y shirt and it’s message! I had to chuckle at the Band-Aid arsenal. I never seem to have them on hand but that may because my son thinks every scratch requires one.
Oh wow that tshirt turned out really great!
I had to carry a similar emergency kit when my daughter was playing sports. She was always getting hurt because she was so active and powerful in the game.
That is such a cute kit!! very nice photos too!
I love that tank! And that is such an awesome kit.
What an empowering message to send to young girls! i love it.
