Upgrade Your Sleep in Minutes: No Central AC? No Problem.
You’re tired of waking up in a hot sweat. And you need a good night’s rest. So it’s time you met the NewAir NAC08KWH00 Portable Air Conditioner.
This post is sponsored by NewAir, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I can’t think of a worse thing than a bad night’s sleep.
Ok, maybe I’m being dramatic. But seriously, a bad night’s sleep can ruin your whole day. Because who has time for a nap? Especially us Moms.
And side note, why does it feel like our body temps go up about 20 degrees at night? Or is it just me?
If you’ve been to northern Minnesota, you would know that it not only gets super hot in the summer, it also gets incredibly humid. I’m talking wake up in the morning feeling like you’ve been camping in a tent because your bed sheets are wet HUMID.
So when I was given the opportunity to test a NewAir NAC08KWH00 Portable Air Conditioner at our family cabin up north, I jumped at the chance.
I just couldn’t take another bad night’s sleep at the cabin.
I honestly didn’t even know portable air conditioners existed. If I had, I would have bought this thing for our cabin YEARS ago!
This unit was SO EASY to install, plus it’s an all-in-one air conditioner, fan, and dehumidifier so it instantly got rid of the humidity in the back bedroom.
If you’ve been struggling through restless nights, you need to try a portable air conditioner. It will change your life.
Here’s how easy it was to install…
How to Install a NewAir NAC08KWH00 Compact Portable Air Conditioner in Your Bedroom
SUPPLIES
- NewAir NAC08KWH00 Compact Portable Air Conditioner
- Included Window Plate Installation Kit (this kit also includes an extension that can be cut to length if you’ve got an extra wide opening)
- Optional: Foam Weather Stripping (we used painter’s tape)
Where to place your NewAir NAC08KWH00 compact portable air conditioner
Make sure you place the unit on an even floor and at least 20″ away from other objects. This unit also includes easy-glide casters, so you can move it wherever.
Attach the provided exhaust duct
Screw the exhaust duct into the opening at the back of the unit. Turn the duct counterclockwise to secure. This exhaust duct can be extended up to 59″!
Install the included window sealing plate kit
Place the sealing plate into the open window and close the window until the sealing plate sits snug. Make sure you can’t see any light coming in along the edges of the plate or your seal is not tight enough.
If you’re planning on keeping the unit installed for a long periods of time, you can make the seal even stronger by placing weather stripping along either side of the window plate. Or, in our case, blue painter’s tape 😉
If your window is on the ground floor, I also recommend installing a security bracket to the window so that it can’t be opened from the outside.
Once the window sealing plate is securely in place, attach the exhaust hose.
Enjoy the best night of sleep you’ve ever had
Once the unit is easily installed, you’ll sleep like a baby. And this thing is powerful, it can quickly and evenly cool an area up to 200 sq ft!
This NewAir NAC08KWH00 compact portable unit also comes with a handy dandy remote, so you don’t even have to get out of bed 😉
Summer’s not over, don’t spend another restless night tossing and turning!

You would LOVE IT. We brought it home from the cabin last weekend and I feel so spoiled, I’m sleeping like a baby! Our bedroom is always at least 5 degrees hotter than the rest of the house 🙁
This looks awesome! I might have to pick one up. We’re in Texas and it’s SO hot here.
I wake up in a sweat often. This looks so nice! I really could have used this when we lived in the midwest where it stays so hot all summer and doesn’t cool down at night.
This is a great and easy idea when central AC is not available. It is way too hot during the summer to be without this.
Where was this when I lived in California and there were no such things as A/C units?! I love this!
It looks great. It’s so hot in Summer that living without air conditioner is impossible x
I’ve always been curious about these! We have AC but our upstairs still gets really warm when the temperatures are super hot!
