My other forgotten child.

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group®, Litter Genie® and Fancy Feast®, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #Catparents
Taking the time to spoil my forgotten child, my kitty, with Fancy Feast and my new favorite thing, the Litter Genie!
Before there was Bean, there was Kitty. My husband (boyfriend at the time) and I rescued her after one of our just for fun trips to the local humane society. When I saw her in the arms of another family, I knew I had to have her. Luckily, they decided not to take her home (their loss for sure!)
She came with the name “Smokey Joe” which I thought was preposterous because she’s a GIRL. We named her “Isis” (which turned out to be an unfortunate name in the last year) but we always just call her “Kitty”.
Dressing up my kitty.
Before I was playing dress-up with Bean, I was playing dress-up with Kitty. She has a tutu, a witch costume, and a reindeer get-up for Christmas. Yep, I was “that person” dressing up their cat. And I loved every minute of it.

Man, this photo shows just how far phone cameras have come in the last 3 years… Anyways, as hard as you try, it’s inevitable that pets get less attention when kids enter the scene. When you have a baby/child climbing on you all day, the last thing you want is a cat doing the same thing once you put baby to bed. I try to give Kitty some snuggles as much as my sanity will allow. She sure loves having her face scratched.

I decided to really spoil my forgotten child (the other forgotten child being my netherland dwarf Normie) and brought home some kitty swag from Target.

Kitty’s diet usually consists of dry cat food. I wanted to give her an extra special mealtime treat with a gourmet meal from Fancy Feast. We have always been very picky with what we feed our pets, it comes from my husband being a former PetSmart employee when we were dating. Only the best for our furry children! I felt confident knowing that Fancy Feast is made with high-quality protein sources and ingredients.

The other treat was a win-win for all of us. I will admit, ever since I got pregnant and had to hand over all of the litter box duties to my husband for safety’s sake, I have yet to change a litter box. My wonderful husband has taken on all pet care duties, which I am ever thankful for.

Litter Genie system set up

I picked up a Litter Genie to help make litter box duties easier for him. And can I say, I don’t know how we lived without one now that we have one! It is super easy to set up and it keeps the nasty litter box smell away.

How to use a Litter Genie system

All you do is scoop the clumps from the litter box, grab and pull the handle, push it back in place, and close the lid. No more smell and no more multiple trips to the garage to throw the stinky bag in the garbage. After the recommended 14 days has past, all you do is use the built in child-safe cutter to detach the waste liner, tie it up, and toss it in the trash. So easy peasy. If you want to make your cat owner life so much easier, Target is having a great deal right now where you can buy any TWO (2) Fancy Feast® – 24 pack OR Litter Genie® Pail/Refill and get a free Cat Toy or Friskies party mix cat treat.   Offer available while supplies last 2/15/15 – 4/11/15.

Have you tried the Litter Genie system yet? Does your cat eat Fancy Feast? I would love to hear about it in the comments below!
