New Mom Survival Kit (That I Wish Someone Had Given Me!)
This New Mom Survival Kit complete with Jif™ Bars is a sponsored post thanks to Socialstars #TeamJif
It can be overwhelming to think up perfect gift ideas for someone who just had a baby.
There are only so many onesies a baby can wear before they grow out of them in a week, right?
Speaking from experience, there are some tried and true items that should be included in every new mom postpartum survival kit.
What is a new mommy survival kit?
Although my Bean is not quite so little anymore, newborn days are still pretty vivid in my memory.
I remember having a few baby products and things that were my go-to’s, some of which were recommended to me by other moms and some I discovered to be my favorite essentials.
So, I decided to put them together to give to my sister as a gift after she had her first baby.
Here’s how you can also put together a New Mom Survival Kit for the new mom in your life…
What should I put in my new mom survival kit?
Diapers and Wipes
It’s a no-brainer, new moms will go through diapers and wipes like water. I loved it when I would get boxes of these as gifts!
Hand Sanitizer
When there’s a new baby around, it’s important that germs are kept at bay.
Having a bottle of hand sanitizer around for yourself and all of the guests that want to visit and hold the baby really comes in handy.
Tucks Pads
Now for something that’s not quite so glamorous but OH MY GOSH these were a lifesaver for me.
Fellow moms, you know what I’m talking about.
A container of these in the fridge=heavenly relief.
Aquaphor
I was given a tube of this as a gift when I was a new mom, and it was the only thing that would cure the really bad cases of diaper rash or skin irritations that Bean had.
I still like to keep a tube around, it’s like a miracle cure for any skin irritations.
Bath Time Rinse Cup
This is something that we still use with every bath for Bean.
We were using a big plastic cup and our hand to direct water away from Bean’s face, but I found one of these at the store and thought it might make bath time easier. It totally does.
Scented Candle + Advil
This is a soothing, delicious smelling reminder to RELAX. Being a new mom is life changing in the best way possible, but it also comes with a lot of stress.
Burning candles (in a safe location, obviously) and taking the time for relaxation is so important for new moms.
Speaking of stress and stress headaches, I went through ibuprofen like candy, so I also threw in a bottle of Advil.
Snack Bars
Sometimes taking care of a new baby keeps you so busy that you forget to eat. I threw in a box of these Jif™ Bars as a reminder to eat some yummy snacks.
I LOVE these bars, they are a great source of protein so they help you stay full between meals. Plus, they’re made with Jif™ peanut butter so they taste delicious, really they do.
I guarantee the new mom in your life would love a New Mom Survival Kit.
Useful, helpful, thoughtful, it’s the perfect gift!
