Perfect Baked Mini Donut Recipe
Donuts are like, really trendy right now. That is something I never imagined I would ever be saying.
There was a period of time in my childhood where Dunkin Donuts was pulling their stores from Minnesota right and left. Now, Dunkin Donuts has announced it’s return to Minnesota and there’s a Mom & Pop donut shop in practically every town.
Personally, I think it’s AWESOME because I think donuts are AWESOME. I had a maple glazed donut with a strip of bacon on top a few weekends ago and my brain practically exploded from the combination of flavors.
You know what else is awesome? It’s National Donut Day! In honor of National Donut Day, I am sharing with you a recipe for baked mini donuts that tastes de-li-cious.
EASY BAKED DONUT RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
recipe via Granny Girls
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 egg
- 4 Tbsp butter
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat your mini donut maker. If you’re using an oven, preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine the wet ingredients in a small sauce pan and stir consistently over low heat. While the butter is melting, mix together the dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Add the wet ingredients to the bowl and mix together the wet and dry ingredients until blended.
- Pour the batter into a quart sized ziploc and snip off a tiny corner. This will make adding the donut batter to your donut maker or pan so much easier.
- Pipe the donut batter to your greased donut maker or pan. Bake according to your donut maker’s instructions, or for approx. 12 minutes if baking in the oven.
Top with your choice of powdered sugar, cinnamon & sugar, this recipe for glaze, or leave em plain. Try not to eat the whole batch in one sitting 😉
Are you celebrating National Donut Day with a delicious, worth breaking the healthy eating for, donut? I sure hope so!
SO yummy! These look amazing!
I was so sad when Dunkin' left Minnesota long ago, but we have it in Florida now. It's not the “dunkin'” that it used to be, but that is awesome that it is making it's way back up there!
Nothing will ever top Han's bakery in Anoka! Have you ever been?! ahhhmazing.
I'm excited about it, I haven't seen one close (I think Wisconsin is as close as it's gotten so far) but I'm on the lookout!
Funny you should mention Hans. When I was in preschool, my Grandma used to take me there after school for a bear claw and chocolate milk, I remember to this day! They closed for a few years but reopened (I think) a couple years ago and have been super popular ever since!
