Tutorial: Thrifted Chair Permanent Marker Makeover
*Disclosure… I was lured into this post with an incredible pack of gorgeous, neon permanent markers from The Write Dudes. They did not disappoint.
Hello, I’m the nerd you’ll find drooling over packs of vibrantly colored pens and markers in the office supply section at Target. I jumped at the chance to play with a new line of permanent markers from The Write Dudes.
I wanted to “think outside the box” and also take care of my lack of a desk chair problem all at once. Suddenly inspiration hit… I’ve had a few extra chairs laying around the house taking up valuable kitchen space. I realized that I had started using one at my desk “until I found a new one.” Why not save some moolah and give new life to the one I already had? I think I literally did a face-palm when it hit me.
Using The Write Dude’s neon permanent markers, write your favorite quotes on a flat surface of the chair. You know you’ve been “pinning” them constantly to your “Quotes and Words of Wisdom Board”. Now you can put them to good use, you’re welcome. I decided to go for a sort of ombre look. Basically I just wanted to use as many colors as I could 🙂 I waited until I was done writing on the chair to re-attach the cushion. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to write on the front as well, in the end I’m glad I just did the back.
I’m in love with these babies. In the past, when I thought “permanent marker” bland and boring colors came to mind. Not anymore. I was honestly impressed with the variety and tone of the pack. I know we’re going to have a long and happy life together 🙂 *the smudge you see on the bottom right photo is thanks to Bean slapping her hands on it immediately after I finished, creating with children is never easy hehe
Bonus… The Write Dudes are giving away a pack of 12 neon permanent markers to one of my lucky readers. If you’re a writing utensil connoisseur such as myself, you don’t want to pass up this awesome opportunity.
