Valleyfair Minnesota Tips: Must Have Food & Treats
It’s summertime in Minnesota and that means it’s time for our annual family trip to Valleyfair. We were given passes for a day at the park for a sponsored campaign with Valleyfair plus all day dining passes, which were seriously the coolest benefit!
I’ve talked about our love of Valleyfair (or as I like to call it, the happiest place in Minnesota) on the blog before. This time we wanted to focus on something that we normally didn’t: treating ourselves to all the Valleyfair food and treats we wanted!
Chick-fil-a at the Chicken Shack
We arrived at lunchtime and were pleasantly surprised to find that Valleyfair was now serving Chick-fil-A! We started the day with a classic chicken sandwich and bag of waffle potato chips from the Chicken Shack. Plus, of course a bunch of Chick-fil-A sauce to dip them in 🙂
With our all day dining passes, we were able to enjoy an entree and side as often as every 90 minutes. If you’re planning on spending the day at Valleyfair, you’ve got to take advantage of it. We also picked up a souvenir bottle that comes with FREE REFILLS the day you purchase. Plus, if you purchase online you save an extra $3!
By the time we were done with lunch, we were ready for some cooling off at Soak City, my personal favorite part of Valleyfair. It’s a great benefit that you get admission to both parks because believe it or not, Minnesota summers can get super hot and SUPER humid.
We happened to go on an absolutely gorgeous day weather wise, and for some reason the park wasn’t busy whatsoever. Bean even got an entire row of beach chairs to herself! It was awesome.
Savory Waffles at Nordic Waffles
After Soak City we were ready for another treat. Nordic Waffles was located right outside the entrance to Soak City and taking a peek at their menu was enough to make us want to stop.
We got the All-Day Breakfast Waffle and Pizza Waffle and they were both DE-LI-CIOUS.
Sweet Treats at Dippin’ Dots Ice Cream
Bean wasn’t about the waffles, she wanted her traditional cup of Dippin’ Dots. She was so patient until we were able to make our way to one of the five Dippin’ Dots locations at Valleyfair. Her ice cream of choice: cookies and cream.
After Bean’s stop for her sweet treat, we were ready for more rides. And by “we” I mean Bean and by rides I mean Planet Snoopy 😉
She was tall enough for some of the “big kid rides” like the Mad Mouse, but she wasn’t quite ready yet this summer. That’s why we love all of the ride offerings for kids at Planet Snoopy. There are options for families with kids of all ages at Valleyfair.
Fresh Cut Fries and Cheese Curds at Fryer Tuck’s Homemade French Fries
I’m what you might call “french fry obsessed”, so I wasn’t going to be happy unless we made a stop at Fryer Tuck’s Homemade French Fries.
With our all day dining pass we were able to get a basket of French fries and cheese curds, a bonus surprise!
Valleyfair Classic at Pronto Pups
We ended the day by splitting a Valleyfair classic: a jumbo pronto pup from the Pronto Pups stand. Our dining passes allowed us to also get a bag of chips on the side.
It was fun getting to relive my childhood with some treats that I haven’t had in years. Valleyfair is a great stop for foodies all summer long thanks to Minnesota-themed food events, Food Truck Fridays, the Corn Feast and more.
After a day full of food and fun, we had to stop for our favorite annual photo opp on our way out.
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Valleyfair.
It looks like you and your family had a great time and ate some tasty food! Great memories.
Looks like a great time! We are getting ready for a trip to an amusement park as well!
Such a great place to have holiday with family.
Lovely captures from the place.
It looks like a day of fun eats and good times. I’d like to try the nordic waffles.
They were SO GOOD. I’ve never had anything other than a traditional waffle before so it was a pleasant surprise 🙂
What an eventful and fun day! Thanks for sharing!
