Vintage Christmas Ornament Wreath Tutorial
Then, I had the brilliant idea to make a wreath out of them. I was still displaying my overly done DIY Christmas bulb wreath that you’ve probably seen all over Pinterest, but I was getting sick of it. If you happen to stumble across a collection of ornaments that you want to have some fun with, I’ll share how I made my wreath.
Vintage Christmas Ornament Wreath
- ornaments (preferably vintage, because they’re just too darn cute.)
- 50 feet of tinsel garland
- a foam wreath (mine was about a foot wide)
- hot glue and hot glue gun
STEP ONE
I started by gluing one end of the garland to the back of the wreath. Be generous with the glue, that tinsel garland can be tricky.
STEP TWO
Continue wrapping the garland around and gluing every few wraps. Make sure to glue to the back of the wreath. If you can see a teensy bit of the wreath form underneath it’s no big deal, the ornaments will cover it up later.
STEP THREE
Before I committed to anything with glue, I laid the ornaments out until I found an arrangement that I liked.
This is one of my favorite ornaments on the wreath. As a lot of old decorations can be, it’s slightly creepy looking but still quite cute.
STEP FOUR
I started gluing the larger ornaments down first (in this case, the angels) because I figured I could fill in the blank spots with the smaller ones. Again, be generous with the hot glue as it’s going to be hanging and you want those ornaments to stay secured.
STEP FIVE
This next step would have probably been easier if I had remembered to do it before I started gluing ornaments on, but it worked nonetheless. I made a little hook out of florist wire and attached it by wrapping it around the wreath itself a few times.
Hang that baby up and enjoy your handiwork. I got the biggest compliment from my husband when I showed it to him after coming home from work. He asked me where I bought it from, and he was totally serious! Score.
This turned out fantastic! Pinning! : )

I love this idea. The little angels are just like the ones I made years ago when my 9 ft. tree was all pink, white and gold. I also sold about 30 of them at a bazzaar. They were fun to make and really cute. I think I will be bringing them back to life with a wreath done in pink and white. Thank you for the inspiration. I love this site for ideas I would never have thought of.

Thanks so much Beverly! I would love to see how your angels turn out!
