Why blogging is the best thing ever

Oh hi, happy Thanksgiving! I’m feeling terrifically warm and fuzzy. It’s officially Thanksgiving in the good ol’ US of A. Laid back fun, family, and food (lots of it) are on the docket for today.

Not to mention the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. Although, let’s be honest, that’s usually just background noise in my house. Albeit very important background noise. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I’m feeling especially thankful for many things. One of them being blogging, let me count the ways…

I’m thankful for the opportunities that blogging has brought me. From the different awesome products that I’ve gotten to experience that I never would have otherwise to the bit of extra dough that I’ve made, I am so grateful for what blogging has presented me.

I never imagined that the doors that have been opened would have been opened through blogging. Especially since (although I was always a straight-A honor student) English and Writing were never my favorite. Confession time: English was my lowest scored category on my ACT test. To be paid and make professional connections through my writing seems like a farce. And yet, here I am.

I’m thankful for the people that I have met through blogging. Did I ever think in a hundred years that I would have made “friends” through the internet? Heck no. But here I am, with a handful of people across the country that I have connected with through the power of the blogging community.

When I’m having a tough day, or just need to vent, or when I need a little extra online support, I know that I always have my blogging friends. It sounds so lame, I know, but the blogging community is one of the strongest and most supportive communities that I have come across.

Most importantly, I’m thankful for the documentation that blogging has unintentionally motivated me to do throughout my newlywed phase and parenthood.

Starting a blog a month after I got married, and a month before I found out I was pregnant, was the best thing I could have ever done. I got some blogging experience under my belt before life started to really get crazy.

Then, when I was finally a new mommy and a wife, I felt comfortable about sharing our family’s life happenings and Bean’s adventures in growing up.

When I think back upon the moments in our life that I would have never thought to keep track of let alone take quality photos of and document, I feel especially appreciative that I have stuck it out through the tough times of blogging. I can’t wait until Bean is old enough to understand and read through my old blog posts about her. I only wish my mom had such a thing when I was little.

It sounds incredibly corny, but one of the many things that I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving is blogging. Of course, I’m thankful for blogging along with so many things. But hey, thank you blogging for being awesome.

What are you most thankful for?
